CityCare’s staff bank gave Max Weston the chance to return to the job she has loved for more than 20 years.

The Registered Nurse jumped at the chance to join the newly created bank and is currently working three days a week as part of the Strelley team.

She loves that she can work flexibly and gets paid weekly and intends to move to a full-time position soon.

Having worked as a nurse for more than 20 years, Max and her husband moved to Shropshire in November 2023 as part of their retirement plans, but they missed Nottingham, and for Max, life at CityCare.

When an ex-colleague told her about the new bank, that was enough to have Max and her husband planning their return.

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to come back to CityCare. I love my job and never wanted to stop working. The CityCare bank gave me a lifeline to come back to Nottingham and back to  CityCare,” she said.

“I can choose my shifts and get paid weekly. It also allows me to use my experience as a practice educator, supporting new starters and newly qualified colleagues.”

CityCare’s staff bank is open to all that allows you to apply for and pick up different work shifts flexibly with no obligation or expectation, all while getting paid at the end of each week. Currently CityCare’s internal bank is in a pilot stage for Community Nursing teams but our aim is to build it up to cover both clinical and non-clinical teams across CityCare to ensure  our services are fully staffed.

All CityCare substantive staff can join the Staff Bank, if you are interested in joining the bank, or would like some further information, please email ncp.temporarystaffing@nhs.net.
