Nottingham CityCare is proud to be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2025

This week we will be spotlighting current and former CityCare apprentices and their journeys, as well as sharing key information about apprenticeships, highlighting the value and opportunities they create.

We currently have 39 apprentices working in a various fields, such as Project Management, Business Administration, Accountancy, Academic Professional, Nurse degree, Nursing associate, and Assistant Practitioner.

CityCare has launched a dedicated staff network to support colleagues completing clinical apprenticeships.

The Clinical Apprentice Network will be supported by Apprenticeship and Careers Engagement manager Emma Cross and a member of staff from the Professional Standards team.

The network aims to provide:

• A safe space to share experiences and learn from one another
• Share clinical or apprenticeship updates
• A chance to learn from others
• Sessions with guest speakers.

A   drop-in development session will be held for colleagues on Wednesday, 12 February, which will focus on ways to develop essential skills for life, including functional skills, research, clinical training, and leadership.

Apprenticeship and Career Engagement Manager Emma Cross said: “We are committed to apprenticeships, offering our staff the chance to enhance their skills and improve patient care while advancing their careers.

“This week, we hope to highlight the value of apprentices, and offer important information to those who may be interested in an apprenticeship at CityCare.”

Namdi Ngoka, Nottingham CityCare’s Director of People, Communications and Inclusion said: “During this week, I would encourage all colleagues to look out for information  being shared and the amazing stories of staff who have accessed apprenticeships.

“Apprenticeships are available across all levels within the workplace and can support both our clinical and non-clinical staff to develop their careers.”
