CityCare, the award-winning community health services provider, saw its clinical teams continue to give back to our communities, with the Community Palliative Team providing newborn essentials and St Ann’s District Nursing Team helping the homeless.
As an alternative to exchanging Christmas cards, over the past few years the Supportive and Palliative Care service has instead collected for charity. This year, the team brought in new-born baby essentials, which were given to Amanda, a midwife at the Mary Potter Centre who organises distribution of donations to families in need.
We also saw the St Ann's District Nursing Team, who collected toiletries, snacks, hats, scarves and more. They gift wrapped each box or bag to make it extra special and the Friary Homeless Charity gave these out over Christmas. Not only were these donations made by CityCare staff, but they were also received from The Conifers Care Home, Betty's Baubles and nurses working at Nottingham University Hospitals.
Helen Woodiwiss, Director of Operations, said: “Our community staff are integral to supporting healthcare needs in our community. Whether it’s delivering care or fantastic initiatives like this, done with kindness and care at their heart, I am immensely proud of our teams.
I hope these gifts brought some happiness to those who received them.”
