Pregnant women can be referred to Smoking in Pregnancy service in by their midwife. Our pregnancy advisors will support with a combination of behavioural one to one support over the telephone and provide nicotine replacement therapy.
We will support you with the advice and support you need to quit smoking. We will talk through the facts of smoking during your pregnancy and the negative effects on you and your baby and support you with a non-judgemental approach to your care. We will look at the reasons why you smoke, support you to make the decision of when to quit and what triggers may make it harder for you to give up. We will also detail you with benefits that stopping smoking has for your unborn baby.
If you are pregnant and would like to stop smoking, please ask your midwife to refer you to our specialist maternity stop smoking advisors.
